Being kidnapped to Krakatoa (part 2)

After catching sunset at Umang-umang island, we're going back to the homestay for cleaning ourself. The sea journey was quite a long, it tooks almost 2 hours for us from Umang-umang island to Sebesi Island. Usually, the main problem when you're on trip was the bathroom. Since there're a lot of people with limited bathroom, so it usually takes time. But in here, there're a lot of bathrooms, eventhough it's located behind the homestay but it's not taking long time to go there. There's a bbq and bonfire near the beach. But because I was quite tired and not in the mood of mingle, I sit in the bench and just enjoyed yhe atmosphere. Because it's cloudy, unfortunately we cant see any stars.

In the next day, we're planned to catch sunrise at Anak Krakatoa. We have to wake up around 3a.m and started to move at 3.30am. When I woke up, I heard the sound of thunder. I almost decided to go back to sleep because probably there's no sunrise and we will find the storm instead. But then all the people were gettinh ready, so either I was. We leave the Sebesi Island around 4 am and arrived in Anak Krakatoa 2 hours later.

We caught the sunrise at the beach instead of the mountain

Krakatau itself is a small island group in the Sunda Strait between the islands of Sumatra and Java. It is a mostly submerged caldera with 3 outer islands belonging to the rim and a new cone, Anak Krakatau, that has been forming a new island since 1927 and remains highly active

The tracking time to the top of Anak Krakatoa mountain

Actually the mountain was not that high, even I actually felt the Sikunir hill in Dieng was higher. But the hardest part of this tracking was Anak Krakatoa was totally a dunes. Where when we put 1 step uphill, we slip 2 steps downhill or more. And it's more dusty than Sikunir, since it's a vocanic mountain.

At the top of Anak Krakatoa. Cloudy and gloomy athmosphere.

The rest part of Krakatoa Mountain after the eruption. And if you could see, there're some vocanic smokes and means it still active.

Anak Krakatoa

The tracking down route. It's actually an easier route than the climbing one. We wonder why we didnt take this route to climb on. Even I cant resist my urge to run at these route.

After the cloudy and gloomy morning, suddenly it's raining in our tracking down time, and fortunately he bring my drybag. And thanks God that it's raining right after we going down and not in the top of the mountain. I couldn't imagine if it's raining when we're up there.

After the breakfast, we're ready to go to the last snorkeling spot, Lagoon Cabe. And I really love this spot. Compared to previous ones, this spot was really beautiful.

After finished the snorkeling, and the current suddenly got strong, we're going back to Sebesi island to clean ourself and packing before going back to Pelabuhan Canti where we will take another rented angkot to Bakaheuni. And I was wished that there's no Dangdut remix that I should listen for hours. #crossingfinger

Just right after we arrived at Pelabuhan Canti, it's raining again. After waiting for our angkot, we're heading back to Bakauheni and waiting for the ship to Merak. So, because suddenly my gastritis was relapse, we out to buy some food, and didn't know that the other team already going in to the ship, so the tour leaders were looking for us. And we should running to the ship where the fence already almost closed. There's always be a first time right? Hahahaha *sorry

After another 2 hours from Lampung to Merak, we still arrived earlier than the schedule, safe and sound.
Thanks for the trip. And See you on next!

Ja Ne
