So, I began our 3rd day with cursing.
At midnight when we're sleeping, suddenly the air conditioner was down. At first I thought that my roommate that turned it off. But in the morning, we realized that actually the electricity was down since midnight.
When we called to the receptionist, we found that only our room that was down, since midnight, and he blamed us and said that it's because of we used too many electricity. Maaann, all we did was sleeping and charging our phones and you said we used too many electronics? Even we have to call several times to the receptionist to finally the technician came to check and he did nothing!
When finally the electricity was up, we decided to get ready for breakfast and meet the boys in the restaurant. For 4 stars hotel, the breakfast menus was so so. And when we told the boys, they said that they room was fine.
The 3rd day was city tour. We went to Maimun Palace right after we checked out. Maimun palace or Maimoon Palace (Indonesian: Istana Maimun) royal palace of Sultanate of Deli and also a well-known landmark in Medan.
Built by Sultan Makmun Al Rasyid Perkasa Alamsyah in years 1887–1891, the palace covers 2,772 m² and has 30 rooms. Currently, it has become a popular tourist destination in the city.
We're welcomed by a group of traditional Melayu orchestra. You have to pay IDR 5k to enter the palace, and dont forget to take off your sandals or shoes.I also bought some traditional sarongs here for gifts. IDR 25k/each was really cheap!
In the inside, you can see that the Palace has unique interior design of the palace, mixing the elements of Malay cultural heritage, Islam, Spanish, Indian, and Italian style. You also can took a picture in the front of the throne, not only that, you can rented the traditional clothes.
Compared to previous day, the weather was really hot. But we managed to take a pictures in the front of the palace in a real hot day.
For lunch, we're going for lunch to RM. Sinar Pagi that famous by their soup, after that we're going to buy the most famous cake from Medan, bolu Meranti that requested by most of our friends.
Because Arifin said he was tired and all he wanted to do that day was sleep, so after buying the gifts, we decided to go back to hotel.. Only to find that my room hasn't being cleaned yet. It's already 2pm and the room's still messy! So after complaining (again), I went to the boys's room to laying around while waiting, and apparently they room already clean. *what the heck the bad things happened to our room only??
Around 4pm, after bugging Sean to get ready (since his friend refused to join), we're going to Tip Top ice cream. The old and famous ice cream in Medan.
Medan is also famous with the Durian, so we went to Durian Ucok. Actually the one who really loves Durian was me, but I managed to ask Sean to help me eat 2 Durians. Hahaha
After finished eating the Durian, we're kinda confused where we wanted to go at night. Since it's already Sunday and not really many night attraction there, so we decided to go to Merdeka Walk.
This place has variety of Indonesian foods, chinese foods, and even fast food. While eating your dinner can enjoy Medan city night view in the middle of the city, it also near the city Stadium.
After randoming around, we finally chose to go into Chinese restaurant. We're going back to the hotel after the dinner and repackaging our goods because we will have our first flight in the morning. And I really wished that there will be no random mistreated that caused me upset this time.
In the dawn, actually we didnt wake up late, but because the boys didnt have their shower, we're the latest whom checked out. And the hotel's upset me (again) because it took a long time just to take our risoles from their freezer. But fortunately we already booked their airport's transferred car and managed on time.
After checked in baggage, we have small breakfast that the boys brought while waiting for the departure time (Thanks guys. Hahaha). We arrived in Jakarta around 11am and going back to our own homes by taxi.
Well that's all my random encounter in Medan. And see you later.
